The project, carried out in collaboration with AMIU Spa, Colouree Srl, Darts Engineering Srl and IREN Spa, involves the development and demonstration of a&nbsp;<strong>now-casting service of the risk of flooding&nbsp;<\/strong>during heavy rains. of the NOW-Coasting&nbsp;project \u2013&nbsp;<strong>cofunded by the POR-FESR Liguria 2014-2020 programme<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 was to define the good practices to adapt the Smart Rainfall System (SRS) for the Coastal Monitoring Market.<br>During the project, Artys established a scientific collaboration with the La Spezia department of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ingv.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INGV<\/a>&nbsp;(National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology), aimed at integrating&nbsp;<strong>SRS<\/strong>&nbsp;as an&nbsp;<strong>innovative This project has received&nbsp;<strong>funding from the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme<\/strong>&nbsp;under grant agreement No 728651. This allowed us to assess the&nbsp;<strong>positive performance<\/strong>&nbsp;of the first installed measuring stations, already on the occasion of the&nbsp;<strong>flood<\/strong>&nbsp;which occurred on&nbsp;<strong>09\/10\/14<\/strong>. Between 2015 and 2016 some new stations were installed and activated, to extend the experiment (listing only the main) to the valleys of&nbsp;<strong>Chiaravagna<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Polcevera<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Bisagno<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Sturla<\/strong>. Within the TCUBE project, the role of Darts was to study how to implement the&nbsp;<strong>Smart Rainfall System<\/strong>&nbsp;in the info-mobility project platform, with the aim to inform in real-time citizens and tourists on the specific&nbsp;<strong>weather conditions<\/strong>&nbsp;of the Genoa city centre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"projects_para_heading\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:2px\">2012-2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide projects_separator\" style=\"background-color:#b5b5b5;color:#b5b5b5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"projects_heading has-text-color\" style=\"color:#0090da\"><strong>First development activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong>&nbsp;Smart Rainfall System<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>\u2013 SRS<\/strong>&nbsp;story started in&nbsp;<strong>March 2012<\/strong>, as a collaboration between the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.diten.unige.it\/index.php?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DITEN<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dicca.unige.it\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DICCA<\/a>&nbsp;departments of the&nbsp;<strong>University of Genoa<\/strong>&nbsp;and the Genoese SME&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darts.it\/?page_id=1713&amp;lang=en#about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Darts Engineering<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, we filed the&nbsp;<strong>patent<\/strong>&nbsp;which describes the principle of SRS operation; we also conducted the&nbsp;<strong>first experiments in real conditions,<\/strong>&nbsp;to validate the general structure and the main functions of the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between&nbsp;<strong>2013<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>2014<\/strong>, we tested and proved the technology in&nbsp;<strong>operational environment<\/strong>, even during storms.
